49 Bangladeshis held at Benapole border

Benapole: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 49 people while they were entering Bangladesh after going to India illegally through Gatipara border on Thursday morning, reports UNB.
The arrestees include 11 men, 31 women and seven children—residents of different areas in Narail, Bagerhat and Faridpur districts.
Tipped off, a team of the border guards conducted a drive in the area and arrested them while they were trying to enter Bangladesh territory without valid documents at about 7:30am, said Nayek Subedar Nazrul Islam of BGB Battalion 21’s Benapole camp.
Later, the arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police.
A case was filed in this connection.
