Dhaka: Dhaka University authorities detained eight admission seekers using means of plagiarism during the admission tests of Ka unit (science faculty).

The students were detained from five admission test centres in Dhaka on Friday.

Two students were held from Eden Women’s’ College, five aspirants each were detained from Motijheel Ideal College, Badrunnesa College, Mohammad, Dhaka University’s Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka Metropolitan Women's College and Siddheswari.

Three of the detainees are Imran Khan, Nowrin Jahan. Identities of other students could not be known yet.

Amzad Ali, proctor of Dhaka University, said the admission aspirants were getting answers to questions through mobile phone text messages and electronic devices.

The proctor said actions will be taken against the student after investigation.
