Chapainawabganj: A man was killed and six people were injured in a collision between a battery-run auto rickshaw and a utility vehicle at Bailtala in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased is Rustam Ali, in his sixties, a resident of Chaitannapur village in the upazila.

The Shibganj Police Sub-inspector Moazzem Hossain said Rustam was going towards the upazila headquarters by the auto rickshaw in the afternoon.

When the vehicle reached Bailtala, a speeding human hauler hit the three-wheeler at about 3:00pm, leaving Rustam dead on the spot and injured six passengers of the both vehicle.

Four of the injured were taken to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital while two to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
