Cox’s Bazar: Miscreants swooped on police and snatched a warranted accused from them in Tabalerchar in Kutubdia upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday evening, leaving six policemen injured.

The injured—assistant sub-inspector Aminul Islam, and constables Yousuf, Rezaul, Asim Barua, Ropan Sen and Sani Barua of Kutubdia Police—were taken to upazila health complex.

The police Officer-in-charge Aungsa Thoyai said a police team, led by Aminul, arrested murder case accused Quader, in his twenties, of the area, from Tabalerchar Bazar at about 7:00pm.

A gang of miscreants attacked the police team while they were taking him to the police station and took him away, he said, adding that additional force rushed in and took the injured to hospital.
