Dhaka: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive on Saturday night arrested the main perpetrator in connection with an assault on two college girls in Dhaka’s Mirpur area.

The arrestee is Jiban Karim Babu.

Details of arrest would be revealed at a press briefing at about 12:00pm, according to RAB 4.

Stalkers allegedly assaulted two female students, also twin sisters, of BCIC College Dhaka’s Mirpur 1 area for protesting when they were stalked at in front of the college on Wednesday last.

The stalkers thrashed the twins, brutally, leaving one of the victims with a fractured leg and the other with severe injuries at the waist.

The incident took place when the girls were waiting in front of their college for a bus to return home.

The victims were admitted to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR).

Later, the victims’ father filed a case with Shah Ali Police accusing Jiban Karim in this connection.
