Deep depression forms in East central Bay
Dhaka: The deep depression over east central Bay and adjoining area moved north-westwards over the same area and cantered at about 6:00am on Tuesday about 600kms south of Chittagong port, 515kms south of Cox’s Bazar port, 665kms south-southeast of Mongla port and 595kms south-southeast of Pyra port.
According to the met office special weather bulletin that it is likely to intensify further and move in a north-westerly direction.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 48 kms of the deep depression center is about 50kph rising to 60kph in gusts or squallis. Sea will remain rough deep depression centre.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Pyra have been advised to keep hoisted distant cautionary signal no-one.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
