Bogra: A painting worker was hacked to death by a group of unidentified miscreants at Mohasthan Bridge on the Bogra-Rangpur Highway in Sadar upazila on Tuesday evening.

The deceased is Anisar Rahman Ranju, in his forties, a resident of Rahamatbala village in Sadar upazila of Bogra.

Sub-inspector Shah-Alam, in-charge of the police camp at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, said Ranju was returning home riding a bicycle in the evening.

At Mohashtan Bridge, a gang of miscreants swooped on, and stabbed him indiscriminately at about 6:45pm, leaving him seriously injured.

Later, he was whisked off to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital at about 7:15pm where doctors declared him dead.
