Dhaka:  Police recovered a bullet-hit body of a 65-year-old man at his Dhanmondi residence in Dhaka on Thursday night.

The deceased is Abdul Halim Pappu.

Quoting, Abdul Halim’s family, police said Halim was suffering from cancer for long time. Following his illness, he committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed pistol.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy at about 12:00midnight.

The Dhanmondi police officer-in-charge Abdul Latif said they recovered a pistol from the house. The reason behind Halim’s death could be known after receiving the autopsy report.
