Sherpur: An elderly man was found dead in Chandernagar area in Sadar upazila of Sherpur on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Nayeb Ali, in his sixties, a resident of Boroitar village in Gonpaddi union council of Nakla upazila in Sherpur.

The Sadar Police Officer-in-charge Mohamaad Nazrul Islam said local people spotted his body near a canal in the area at about 8:00am and called police.

On information, police recovered the body.

The body bore an injury mark at the head, added the OC.
