Dhaka: Miscreants hacked a reported police informer to death in the Kalshi area under Pallabi police station in Mirpur in the early hours of Sunday.

Local people said, the deceased is Manik Mia, in his forties, a resident of Naogaon. They claimed Manik Mia worked as an informer for police.

Pallabi police Officer-in-charge (OC) Dadan Fakir told NTV Online local people brought Manik Mia to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition at about 4:30am. Later, duty doctors declared him dead.

It has not been confirmed yet whether Manik Mia was an informant for police or not, said the OC.
