Dinajpur: A Bangladesh national was shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Dhormojoin border point at Birol upazila in dinajpur on early Friday.

The deceased is Abdur Razzak of Bonbari village of Haripur upazila in Thakurgaon.

Witnesses said BSF members opened fire on several people in the area at about 6:00am, leaving Razzak dead on the spot and then took away his body to their camp.

Meanwhile, BSF confirmed Bangladesh Border guard (BGB) about the incident but they did not ascertain the deceased's identity. BGB has sent a letter to BSF to inform them about his identity.
