Dhaka: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) held an Indian arms trader carrying arms and ammunition held in the Gabtali area of Dhaka on Monday night.

The detainee is Khairul, an Indian citizen. Police also claimed to seize 10 firearms, 35bullets, 12 magazines, and some other equipment from his possession.

The DMP media wing Deputy Commissioner (DC) Masudur Rahman on Tuesday morning told NTV Online being tipped off Khairul was arrested from Gabtali. It has been known that he brought the arms in Dhaka through the border area.  

Details about the arrest will be informed in a press brieifing at DMP media centre at about 12:30om, said Masudur Rahman.
