Dhaka: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday interrogated managing director of Dhaka Wasa (Water Supply & Sewerage Authority) Taqsem A Khan in connection with alleged irregularities and corruption that took place in its different projects.

An ACC team, led by its director AKM Jayed Hossain, questioned the Wasa MD for nearly two hours starting from 11:00am at Wasa Bhaban in the capital, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.

Sources said the ACC earlier received allegations that there had been massive irregularities in the tender and procurement processes of Padma (Jashaldia) Water Treatment Plant Project and the Maintenance Operations Development Services (MODS)-5 funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Considering the allegations, they said, the national anti-graft agency launched a probe and Taqsem A Khan was interrogated on Tuesday as part of it.
