Dhaka: Police on Thursday called upon all to refrain from posting any comment and photo in social media, including Facebook, that may hurt people’s religious sentiment.

A vested quarter is out to destroy communal harmony by hurting the religious sentiment of people through posting such photos and comments in social media, a Police Headquarters release said on Thursday.

It urged all to refrain from posting religiously provocative and satiric photos and comments on social media as this is a criminal offence.

Stern actions will be taken as per the law if anyone is found involved in such acts, the release added.
