Former state minister Ziaul Haque dies
Dhaka: Former state minister of Local Government Division (LGRD) Ziaul Haque Zia died undergoing treatment at a Bangkok hospital on Friday morning. He was 63.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson’s office media wing official Shairul Kabir Khan told NTV Online that Ziaul Haque died at the Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok at about Bangladesh time 8:30am.
Shairul Kabir said Ziaul Haque had been suffering kidney and cardiac complications for a long time and was receiving treatment at Bangkok. The former state minister was also suffering from colon cancer.
However, the BNP media wing official could not say when the body would be brought back to the country.
Born on 11 March 1953 at Ramganj in Lakshmipur, Ziaul Haque Zia joined in BNP in 1986. He was elected three times as the lawmaker of Lakshmipur 1 constituency from BNP.
