Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) recovered 36 firearms, 76 bullets and 24 magazines conducting separate drives in Dhaka last month.

Police also arrested 26 people and filed 11 cases with different police stations in connection with recovery of those firearms and ammunition during the period between October 1-31.

The firearms included seven revolvers, 13 pistols, including 12 foreign made, 11 shutter guns and five others types of firearms.

Sources at the DMP said police also recovered 50 crude bombs, 720 chocolate bombs and 75 kgs fireworks.

Ten people were arrested and six cases were filed with different police stations in connection with recovery of the explosives, said Deputy Commissioner (media) of DMP Masudur Rahman.
