Pabna: Miscreants hacked a trader to death at Faridpur upazila in Pabna on Thursday morning.

The deceased is Rafiqul Islam, in his forties, a resident of the village of Shatgaccha in Ekdanta union of Atgharia upazila in Pabna. He was also a fertilizer trader.

The Sharatganj police in-charge of investigation centre Shamsul Haque said miscreants hacked Rafiq and left him critically injured when he was going to work at Dhanughata Bazar at about 9:30am. Later, he died on the way to Pabna General Hospital.

The Pabna General Hospital employee Shariful Islam said body of a fertilizer trader was brought to the hospital in the morning. He was hacked to death.

The Pabna Superintendent of Police (SP) Jahidul Kabir said police will visit the spot for inquiry.
