Noakhali: Three people, including two boys, were killed and 20 people injured as a trawler capsized in the estuary of Feni and Dakatia river at Companyganj upazila in Noakhali on Thursday morning.

Two of the deceased were Ashik, 13 and Hridoy, 5, residents of Urir Char of the upazila.

Companyganj Police Station Officer-in-charge Robiul Haque said a Unir char-bound trawler from Akhter Miar Hat of Subarnachar upazila, carrying at least 50 passengers, in the estuary of the two rivers at about 11:00am.

Three people went missing while others managed to swim ashore.

Later the bodies of the two boys and an unidentified man were found floating near the accident spot.
