Garo woman gang-rape key accused arrested

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the prime accused in connection with the gang rape of an indigenous woman from the Airport Rail Station area in Dhaka on Friday night.

The arrestee is Rubel, a resident of Mistritala, Hasan Uddin Road of Uttar Badda, reports UNB.

RAB-1 Commanding Officer Lt Col Tuhin Mohammad Masud said tipped off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area and arrested Rubel at about 8:00pm.

Earlier, police arrested one Salahuddin, 28, from Badda area in this connection.

The victim filed a complaint with Badda police station on October 28.

Police sources said the victim was gang-raped by four men on October 25 while returning home from her workplace in the city.
Badda Police Station Officer-in-charge MA Jalil said the victim was a resident of Khilkhet area in the capital. She worked at a beauty parlour.

The victim went to meet one of her friends at North Badda on October 25.

When she was returning from there, Rubel forcibly took her to a house at North Badda and gang raped her there along with his friends.
