Gopalganj:  Four passengers were killed when their utility vehicle, Nasimon, collided head-on with a truck at Maksudpur upazila in Gopalganj in the early hours of Tuesday.

At least three people were injured during the accident.

The Bhanga Highway police said four people were killed when a goods-laden truck collided with a utility vehicle at Char Prasannadi of Ragdi union, Muksudpur upazila, Gopalganj on Dhaka-Barisal Highway at about 6:30am.

The deceased are Kamna Biswas, in her twenties, resident of Bennabari village at Sadar upazila, and Kanai Ozha of Thotamandra village, Noa Khan, in his sixties, resident of Char Prasannadi village of Muksudpur, and Mirazul Islam, believed to be 50, a resident of Noyakandi village.

The injured, Shukh and his wife, Bithika, the Nasimon driver, Sagar Sheikh, were sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

The victims were travelling to Chhagalshira from Tekerhat.

The bodies were sent to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex.
