ICT finalises charges against 3 Moulvibazar ‘war criminals’
Dhaka: The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has finalised five specific charges of crimes against humanity against three alleged war criminals of Borolekha upazila in Moulvibazar.
The three accused are Abdul Aziz alias Habul, of Pakhiala village and Abdul Mannan, of Taradaram village and absconding accused Abdul Matin, of the upazila.
‘We have brought five charges against them. We would submit the 89-page investigation report to the prosecution today,’ said Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan, chief-coordinator of the ICT investigation agency at a press conference held at its Dhanmondi office on Monday morning.
The investigation of the case started on 16 October, 2014.
Later police arrested Habul and Mannan from the district following a warrant issued by the ICT on 1 March, 2016.
The investigation report found their involvement in incidents of murder, torture, arson, looting and rape committed during the Liberation War of 1971.
