Earlier in the day, a team of Badda Police Station rearrested the accused, Rubel, son of Mafij Uddin Miah of Mistritala, Hasan Uddin Road of Uttar Badda, from in front of Suvastu Tower in the morning, three days after his escape from the police custody.

When sub-inspector Imran and constable Dipak Chandra of Badda Police Station took Rubel to Dhaka court for recoding his confessional statement, he escaped from their custody on that day.

The Garo woman, a resident of Khilkhet area in the capital who used to work at a beauty parlour, was gang-raped on October 26 last by four youths while returning home from her workplace.
