Dhaka: A Dhaka tribunal on Wednesday convicted two men and sentenced them to death for killing a man in Pallabi in 2013.

The condemned convicts are Shamser, and Lalu, both residents of Pallabi in Dhaka’s Mirpur area, were butchers by profession.

After examining the records and witnesses, Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal 4 Judge Abdur Rahman Sardar issued the order.

The tribunal also fined them Tk 20,000each.

According to the prosecution, the convicts strangled their friend Anis to death over previous enmity on 7 February, 2013.

Mohammad Omar Faruk, brother of the deceased, filed a case with Pallabi Police on the following day.

Pallabi Police sub-inspector M Yeasin Gazi, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted chargesheet against the duo to the court on 7 February, 2014.
