36 workers suffer burns in Ashulia factory fire
Savar: At least 36 workers suffered burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a gas lighter factory in Dhaka's outskirt Ashulia, Savar on Tuesday afternoon.
Quoting workers, Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-charge Mohsinul Quader said the fire originated at a warehouse of Colour Max (BD) Limited at Zerabo-Fulbagan at about 4:30pm.
Soon the fire engulfed the entire tin-roofed factory as there were huge flammable objects, including chemicals, at the factory.
On information, six fire-fighting units rushed in and brought the fire under control at about 6:30pm.
The fire brigades along with locals rescued at least 36 injured workers, including 10 women, from the factory and took them to a nearby hospital.
Of them, 25 were later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
