PM leaves for Hungary Sunday

Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave in Dhaka for Budapest on Sunday morning on a four-day bilateral visit in conjunction with Budapest Water Summit 2016 at the invitation of Hungarian President Dr Janos Ader.

During the visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Hungarian counterpart Victor Orban will jointly inaugurate Bangladesh-Hungarian Business and Economic Forum.

The Prime Minister will leave Dhaka for Budapest by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at about 9:00am on Sunday. The flight will reach Ferenc Liszt International Airport at 13:45 hours (Budapest time).

Minister of State for Security Policy and International Cooperation Istv n Mikola, Bangladesh Ambassador to Hungary Abu Zafar and Hungarian Ambassador to Bangladesh Gyula Petho will receive the Prime Minister at the airport. She will be staying at Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest.

The Prime Minister will address the inaugural session of the two-day Budapest Water Summit (BWS-2916) on Monday, Foreign Minister A H Mahmood Ali said at a press briefing on Thursday afternoon at his office.

Sheikh Hasina will join a high level panel on water with President of Hungary and a working lunch to be hosted by the President.

The Prime Minister along with the Hungarian President and other dignitaries are expected to visit a Sustainable Water Solution Expo.

Her bilateral meeting with her Hungarian counterpart Victor Orban will be held on Tuesday morning at Kossuth Square. She will be given a formal guard of honour at Kossuth Square.

The meeting will be followed by a signing ceremony of a number of agreements. The two Prime Ministers will address a joint press conference after the bilateral talks.

The Foreign Minister said Bangladesh and Hungary are set to sign four MoUs during the Prime Minister’s visit.

The MoUs will be on consultation between the foreign ministries of the two countries, cooperation on water management and agriculture. A MoU will be signed between FBCCI and Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mahmood Ali said.

Sheikh Hasina will meet with President of Hungary Janos Ader at Sandor Presidential Palace.

She will visit Heroes’ Square at Budapest to pay tributes to the Hungarian national heroes and soldiers who died for establishing the statehood of the country.

The Prime Minister will leave Budapest for home on 30 November morning and is expected to reach Dhaka at about 11:30 pm.
