Jessore: A young man was shot to death by miscreants in Barandi Kadamtola area of Jessore on Saturday evening.

The deceased is Suman Biswas, in his twenties, resident of the area.

The Kotowali Police Officer-in-charge Sheikh Ilius Hossain said two miscreants riding on a motorbike opened fire on Suman while he was standing with his friend in front of a local mosque in the area at about 6.30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore 250-bed hospital for an autopsy.

However, the reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
