Benapole: An Ansar member, who was injured in an attack by criminals at Benapole port on 15 November, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early on Thursday.

The deceased is Firoz Hasan, in his thirties, a resident of Bakshipur village in Shailokupa upazila of Jhenaidah.

Criminals stabbed an Ansar member at Benapole port on 30 November night.

Shyamprasad Adhikari, official of Sharsha Upazila Ansar VDP, said a group of criminals suddenly swooped on Feroz with sharp weapons and stabbed him indiscriminately at night on November 15 when he was performing his duty at the port.

Locals took critically injured Feroz to Jessore Medical College Hospital from where he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Later, he died at DMCH early in the morning.
