Police recovered the body of a woman, reportedly committed suicide, from her house in Adabar area of Dhaka on Friday night.

Adabar Police recovered the body of Kakoli Khatun, believed to be 27, at about 11:00pm on Friday.

Police said the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue. If it was a suicide or murder will be known after the autopsy.

Adabar Police Station Sub-inspector (SI) Ashraful islam said, ‘The woman’s husband informed police that Kakoli committed suicide. Police then went to the spot and recovered the body.’  

The woman’s husband works in a private TV channel. He went to the police station to inform the matter, the SI added.

The police officer told NTV Online that the husband was held at the police station for quizzing. The police have been investigating if it was a murder or suicide.
