BGP picks up two Bangladeshis from River Naf

Cox’s Bazar: Myanmar border security force, Border Guard Police (BGP), picked up two Bangladeshi fishermen from the River Naf at Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar in the early hours of Wednesday.

The detainees are Nazir Hossain Bhulu, a resident of the village of Lombabil, and Abdus Shukkur, both in their late forties.

The fishermen’s families and local people said Nazir and Shukkur went to River Naf for catching fishes on Tuesday night. They have not returned home since then.

It has been known that they were picked up by BGP from Lombabill border area near River Naf at Hoyaikong in Teknaf in the early hours of Wednesday.

Abdur Rahim, Shukkur’s brother, said BGP picked up the fishermen from Bangladesh borderline in River Naf when they went to catch fishes.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Teknaf Unchiprang camp Commander Enayet Hossain and Jhimongkhali camp Commander Raqibul Hassan said the incident took place in Lombabill area.
