Man injured in ‘gunfight’ with rivals in Jessore

Jessore: A man was shot in a reported gunfight between two groups of miscreants in TB Clinic area of Jessore on Saturday night.
The injured is Yusuf, in his thirties, a resident of Ghop Central Road in Jessore town.
The Kotwali Police Station Sub-inspector HM Shahidul Islam on information that a gunfight ensued between two criminal groups, a team of police conducted a drive in the area at about 11:30pm.
Sensing the presence of police, the members of both the gangs fled away.
Later, police rescued Yusuf with bullet injuries at his right leg.
The injured was taken to Jessore General Hospital.
Yusuf was accused in several cases including one for snatching, said officer-in-charge of the police station Elias Hossain.
