80 houses gutted in Dhaka slum fire
Dhaka: Over 80 dwellings were gutted in a major fire that broke out in Shattala slum in Mohakhali area of Dhaka early on Monday.
Local people said the fire originated from a gas stove at about 1:00am
At least seventeen units of fire fighters rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control at about 2:00am.
The fire caused huge damages to the houses. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
The fire service Deputy Director Devashish Bardhan said reason behind the fire will be known after investigation.
A three-member probe committee was formed in this connection.
Earlier, on 4 December, around 500 shanties were completely damaged as a massive fire broke out at Korail slum in Dhaka.
