Boy burnt to death over trivial issue

Faridpur: A 12-year-old boy was burnt to death as miscreants set fire to their house at Bhanga upazila in Faridpur early on Monday, claimed his family.
The deceased is Sabbir Hossain Shanta, son of Amir Hossain of the village of Baishakhali, also a student of class IV in Bhanga Model Government Primary School.
The victim’s family said Amir Hossain had a dispute with his neighbour over giving statement in a case. The neighbour also threatened several times to put fire on Amir’s house.
However, a group of miscreant set fire to his house in the early hours of Monday, and Sabbir burnt to death as he was inside the house.
The family said four of their rooms, where they kept their money and other valuables, damaged in the fire.
The Bhanga police Officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Mizanur Rahman said the police members already visited the spot. The body was sent to hospital for autopsy, said the OC.
