Dhaka: State Minister for Posts and Communications Tarana Halim on Monday said the Posts and Telecommunications Division has launched a digital 'file tracking' system, accessible through a mobile phone app, with the aim of instilling pace, accountability and transparency in the activities of the Ministry.

Now high officials concerned of the ministry, with the required authorization, can easily find out the position or status of a file, for example which desk or whose signature is holding it back, through the 'file tracking' app that all concerned officials will have installed on their mobile phones, said the Minister, if they haven't got it already.

"The file movement system was launched following my previous decision to introduce new tactics in the ministry. From now there will be no secrets regarding file movement," Tarana said, during a simple event to formally launch the app at her ministry. 

Besides, the status of all files in circulation will be displayed on a monitor set up at the corridor of the Ministry, besides making particular queries on a file through the mobile app, she added.
