Keraniganj: River police arrested four alleged robbers along with two sharp weapons from Farashganj area on the Buriganga riverbank in Keraniganj upazila on the outskirts of Dhaka early on Wednesday.

The arrestees are Shahjahan, Mashiur Rahman, Atiar Rahman, and Rahim.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Hasanbad police outpost under South Keraniganj Police Station conducted the drive in the area in the dead of night and arrested the four while they were preparing for committing robbery, said sub-inspector Samsul Alam, in charge of the outpost.

Police also recovered two sharp weapons from their possession.
