Chinese man found dead in Jessore
Jessore: Police recovered body of a Chinese citizen from a suburb area near a women’s college in Jessore on Thursday morning.
The deceased is Chang Hing Seong, in his forties. He used to run a business of battery for auto rickshaws.
Police claimed the Chinese man was killed by hitting on head with a rod and strangled to death sometime on Wednesday night.
Police also detained two men for their alleged involvement in the murder. The detainees are Nazmul, and Muktadir, residents of Netrakona.
The Jessore police said Chang and his wife have been living in Jessore for years. The couple lives at the ground floor of a three-story building, Hamida Villa, near the women college.
The Jessore Police said Chang’s personal assistant Nazmul went to the police station to file a missing report of Chang. Suspecting Nazmul’s intention, police detained him and recovered the Chinese man’s body from his resident.
The body was taken to Jessore General Hospital.
Later, police also held Nazmul’s nephew, Muktadir.
Jessore Superintendent of Police (SP) Anisur Rahman said primarily it has been believed that Chang was killed as part of a plot to steal money. Police found wound mark on Chang’s head.
The SP said Chang’s wife Temu Lai En went to Jessore from Dhaka after hearing the death news of her husband.
