Dhaka: A married couple reportedly committed suicide at a house in Mirpur area of Dhaka on Saturday.

The deceased are Motahar, in his forties, and his wife Sheuli, around 30 years old, of Dakhkhin Bishil area in Mirpur.

The Darus Salam Police Sub-inspector Masudur Rahman said on information, a team of the police station went to the spot in the evening and found the bodies of the couple hanging from a ceiling fan in one of the rooms.

The police team recovered the bodies and sent them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue.

It is still not clear what could be the reason behind their deaths, said SI Masud.
