Jatiya Party extends support to Ivy in NCC polls

Dhaka: Jatiya Party on Monday formally extended its support for Awami League nominated mayor candidate Selina Hayat Ivy in the Narayanganj City polls.

‘Jatiya Party is extending support for Awami League candidate Ivy in the Narayanganj City Corporation polls. We are requesting the voters for casting their votes for Ivy as she is a skilled, hard working and popular leader,’ SM Faysal Chisti told a press conference at Narayanganj District Awami League Office.

The party sought votes for Ivy for taking ahead the development activities in the city.

Presidium members of Jatiya Party Meer Abdur Sabur Asud and Haji Saifuddin Ahmed Milan, Vice-Chairman Nazrul Islam Nuru, Alamgir Sikder Loton, Joint Secretary General Safiqul Islam Safiq and Organizing Secretary SM Jasim Uddin were present on the occasion.

NCC polls will be held to elect a mayor, 27 ward councilors for general and nine other reserved seats.

Seven candidates are contesting for mayor post while 156 for general councilors and 38 other for reserved councilor posts.

NCC will go for voting for the first time under party-banner on December 22.
