Rangamati: Five persons died of diarrhoea at Sajek in Baghaichhari upazila, Rangamati from Wednesday night till Thursday morning.

The deceased are Baturam Tripura, Bhadrapati Tripura, Kuhlya Tripura, Bidya Mohan Tripura and Laxmi Rani Tripura.

Acting Civil Surgeon Dr Sushovon Dewan said five people, including a woman, of Shialdah, Chailyatali and Laban Para villages in Sajek died of diarrhoea.

Besides, 30 others were also affected by diarrhoea in the areas, according to the acting civil surgeon.

Two medical teams of the upazila health department reached and started providing services in the areas.
