Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Thursday voiced satisfaction over the election environment in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) saying the voting is going on in a peaceful manner.

‘Though we’ve apprehension of uncertainty over the election, the voters are exercising their franchise in a peaceful manner,’ said BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

He came up with the remarks at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office at about 10:45am.

Ruhul Amin Rizvi said their party leaders and activists and voters of Narayanganj are going to voting centers spontaneously and hoped that the current election scenario will prevail until the end of voting.

The BNP leader asked the polling agents of the party’s mayoral candidate advocate Shakhawat Hossain not to leave the polling stations until the results are announced.

He hoped that their party candidate will win the election with a big margin if the election is held in a free and peaceful manner.
