Dhaka: Terming the voting in the Narayanganj City Corporation election apparently fair, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday voiced concern over ‘possible engineering’ in the election results.
“Except a few stray incidents, the election was held apparently in a free and fair environment…we aren’t sure whether any engineering is happening at the last moment. We’re worried about it,” Rizvi told a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office at 4 pm.
He urged the BNP’s polling agents to stay there in polling centers until the vote counting ends.
Sharply criticising Awami League MP Shamim Osman for showing the ballot paper to others after casting his vote, he said,” It’s part of demonstrating power.”
