Faridpur: The bullet-hit body of a suspected robber was found near a brick kiln at Lakshmipur village in Sadar upazila of Faridpur on Thursday.

Being informed by local people, police recovered the bullet-hit body of Shahadat Sheikh, in his thirties, resident of Rahimpur village, from near a brick kiln in the morning, said Nazimuddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

The OC said Shahadat was member of an inter-district robber gang and he was wanted in a number of cases.

Police suspected that Shahadat might have been killed by his fellows over an internal feud, he added.

Police sent the body to Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
