Noakhali: Two people were killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Samiti Bazar on the Sonapur-Banglabazar Road in Sadar upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased are Muktipada Majumdar, a resident of Boiragi Bazar in Subarnachar upazila, and Faruk, a resident of Musapur village in Companyganj upazila.

The Sudharam Model Police officer-in-charge Anwar Hossain said the Hatiya-bound bus of Subarna Paribahan collided with the auto-rickshaw in the area at about 8:30am, leaving Muktipada dead on the spot and three others injured.

All the victims were riders of the auto-rickshaw.

The injured were admitted to Noakhali General Hospital where Faruk succumbed to his injures later.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
