Two female militants to be quizzed
Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Monday placed two alleged female militants, arrested during the police raid named ‘Operation Ripple 24’ on a militant den at Ashkona early Saturday, on 7-day police custody for interrogation each in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Those remanded are-- Jebunnahar alias Shila alias Shumaiya alias Marjuan, wife of militant Jahidul Islam and Trish Moni alias Umme Sumaiya, wife of absconding militant Md Mainul Islam alias Abu Musa, reports news agency United News of Bangladesh (UNB).
Metropolitan Magistrate Meher Nigar Suchona passed the order after inspector Sayedur Rahman of Counter Terrorism and Transactional Unit (CTTC) produced them before the court seeking a 10-day police custody.
Earlier Shahinur Islam, sub-inspector of CTTC filed the case against eight people with Dakkhin Khan Police Station on Sunday night under the Anti-Terrorism Act after police raid on the militant den.
Two suspected militants, including Shakira alias Tahira, wife of absconding militant Sumon, were killed and a seven-year-old girl, daughter of slain militant Iqbal, was injured during the police raid early Saturday.
Besides two other women -- Jebunnahar along with one year and four month daughter Mariam Binte Jahid and Trisha along with his four months daughter surrendered to police during the raid.
