Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) sent all necessary election materials, including the ballot papers, to all concerned districts across the country as the district council election is scheduled for Wednesday.

In an official letter signed by EC’s senior assistant secretary Syed Golam Rashed the Election Commission instructed to supply all the required election materials to the District Election Officers within 23 December.

As per the requirements, ballot papers, ID cards, training manuals and official seals, have already been sent to the concerned district councils.

‘All preparations have been completed to hold the district council election,’ said Election Commissioner M Shahnewaz.

The first district council election is being held in the wake of completion of the tenure of the 61 district administrators, who had been appointed by the government on 15 December, 2011.
