Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wendesday provided financial assistance to the family members of four policemen died in terror attacks on Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan and Solakia Eid Jamaat in Kishoreganj in July this year.

Senior assistant superintendent of detective branch (DB) Rabiul Karim and officer-in-charge of Banani Police Station Salauddin Khan died in the Gulshan terror on July 1, 2016.

Constable Zahurul Haque and Constable Ansarul Haque died in the incident of terror attack on Solakia Eid Jamaat on July 7.

The prime minister handed over nine cheques for Taka 50 lakh to the family members of the deceased policemen at a simple function at Prime Minister’s Office here, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said.

Kariman Nesa, mother of Rabiul Karim, his father Sajedul Islam, wife Umme Salma, Begum Rem Karim, wife of Salauddin Khan, his daughter Samanta, son Sem Raiyan, Rebeya Akhter, mother of constable Ansarul Haque, his wife Nurunahar Begum and Zubaida Khatun, mother of Zahirul Islam, received the cheques.

Family members of the policemen broke into tears while receiving the cheques. The prime minister consoled them and assured of remaining beside them in future.

PM’s Advisor HT Imam, PMO Secretary Suraiya Begum, Home Secretary Kamal Uddin Ahmed and IGP Shahidul Haq were present.
