Manikganj: Ferry Services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma river was disrupted following dense fog early on Thursday.

Mohammad Salahuddin, manager (commercial) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation’s (BIWTC’s) Aricha ghat office, said the authorities has suspended ferry services on the route from 5:00am due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Three ferries stayed motionless in the middle of the river while 12 stuck at Paturia and Daulatdia terminals.

Passengers suffered most as around 200 vehicles had to be kept waiting on both sides of the river.
