Savar: Three construction workers were killed as the roof of a factory collapsed in Ashulia area here on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were Jahangir, 20, Jalal, 50 and Shahidul, 55.

Fire service sources said that the roof of ‘Primal Food and Drinks Limited’ factory in Zirabo area caved in around 2pm, leaving three workers critically injured.

Jalal and Shahidul died on way to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital while Jahangir on the way to East West Hospital in Uttara.

Police and fire service workers visited the spot.

Factory owner Shamsul Miah went into hiding after the incident.
