Dhaka:  A man was killed as a bus hit a CNG-run autorickshaw at Aeroplane crossing near Chandrima Uddyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar if Dhaka on Friday morning.

The deceased is Mohammad Rafique, age around 76 years.

Two other people were also injured during the accident.

Police and Dhaka Medical College Hospital authorities said Rafique and his son-in-law, Mohammad Moziful Islam was travelling to Gabtali from the Dhaka University area via the CNG-run autorickshaw.

A Bihanga Paribahan bus hit the autorickshaw as it neared Chandrima Uddyan area at about 7:30am, and left two passengers and the driver of the vehicle injured. Local people took the injured to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Rafique dead.

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police Officer-in-charge Ganesh Gopal Biswas said police detained the driver of the Biganga Paribahan bus.
