Drive against militancy, terrorism to continue: IGP
Mymensingh: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque on Friday said police will continue their drives until militancy and terrorism are not rooted out completely from the country.
The police chief came up with the remark while addressing the foundation laying ceremony of a new building and a officers’ mess at the office of Mymensingh Police Super.
People from all strata have raised their voices against militancy and terrorism, he said.
Police are working to prevent militant activities with from support of the country’s people, he added.
Shahidul also urged the guardians to become conscious about movement and activities of their children as youths and women have been engaging themselves in militant activities.
He also inaugurated a CCTV camera network from Mymensingh to Bhaluka and a media centre at Mymensingh SP’s office.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Mymensingh Range Chowdhury Ahdullah Al Mamun was, among others, present at the programme.
