Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Monday adjourned the hearing on charge framing in a case lodged over subversive activities against Daily Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur Rahman till March 9.

‘Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Alamgir Kabir Raj passed the order accepting a defence plea,’ a court official said.

Monday was fixed for holding hearing on the matter. But Mahmudur’s lawyer filed a time plea as he failed to turn up before the court.

According to the case documents, sub-inspector Shahjahan Miah of Kotwali Police Station filed the case against four in 2010 for obstructing the police in observing their duty and trying to snatch the accused from the custody of the law enforcing agency.
